It needs the help of another creature to break open the nest usually built inside a strong tree. The park is also the homeland of the amazing Lilac-breasted roller and the 3 endangered Tanzanian species: Grey-rumped spur fowl, Fischer's lovebird and the babbler-like Rufous-tailed weaver. They are excellent diggers, probably living in monogamous pairs, using burrows, caves or even man-made beehives as lairs.
